Brooklyn based DJ and producer ZEHV gifts the Arteq community with a fresh mix of electronic music comprised of beautiful melodies, rumbling bass, synth lines that move, and quick percussion to drive it home.
ZEHV aka Will Heyman has been signed to labels Mood of Mind, Cinematique, and Droid9 to name a few, and its a privilege to be helping him claim some territory over in Melbourne with the Arteq crew.
We now present you some of the best of Brooklyn's underground for the 35th Arteq podcast. Enjoy the mix, we sure did! Big love ZEHV <3

Who is ‘ZEHV’?
Zehv is me! My hebrew name is Ze'ev and it means wolf.
What direction did you take on the podcast?
I really leaned into my more melodic side here. The past year and a half I've been taking day by day because the world is insane these days, beautiful melodies and almost cinematic soundscapes instantly transport me to a better place and I wanted to create that escape for everyone listening. I envision every progressive house set as a journey, with a beginning, middle, and end and I want people I play to feel like they're on a journey with me.
When and why did you start DJ'ing?
I started DJing in 2017, I was a couple of years into dance music production and wanted to be able to share my music with my friends. It started just playing renegades in the park and at friends' houses, but caught some lucky breaks and journeyed my way into clubs. I was in some rock bands in college and really missed performing in front of live audiences, nothing makes me happier than playing...put me in front of the decks and I'll play forever :)
What's it like living in Brooklyn & what are your most favourite things to do?
I've lived in Brooklyn 2 years now and every time I look across the river and see the NYC skyline I still can't believe I live here. There's really no place like New York, it's alive and full of life. People here have high aspirations of what they want to accomplish in life and I just really feed off that energy and it fuels my music. Besides music, I'm a huge foodie, and NY has endless amounts of fun restaurants and mom-and-pop shops to try! I love going out and just exploring my neighborhood on foot.
What are you most looking forward to in 2021?
Oof, were already well into 2021 and its still weird times. This year I've put a lot of my energy into my music, my friends, and my family. So I'm very excited to spend lots of quality time with those 3 aspects of my life. Music-wise it feels great to be playing to crowds again, so I am also looking forward to many more days and nights of music. I've been focused on making an album with live guitar elements, I'm excited to start performing with them!
You have been involved with a lot of record labels including, 'Mood of Mind' 'Cinematique' & 'Droid9', what's it feel like to have your sound played all over the world?
It blows my mind every day I wake up, my music is very personal to me and I put my heart and soul into every song I make. It is the best feeling, hearing people around the world enjoying the sounds I am creating. I feel very grateful and look forward to growing that list of labels a lot more!
Any upcoming gigs or anything exciting coming up for ZEHV?
I have a 2 track EP coming up later this year that is being finalized and a few more shows in NY.
There's 10 minutes left before the world self-destructs, what song do you put on?
AC/DC - Thunderstruck, Bring it on baby!
