ATQPOD048 || Karez
We are ecstatic to present the 48th Arteq podcast, brought to you by a young, skilled, determined, up & coming and meticulous producer and DJ hailing from Melbourne's west. Welcoming Karez, aka Jack Bianca.
We were first connected through the WAVER. series of events we were hosting pre 2020 lockdown, and his productions stood out from a mile away upon submission.
Some artists have that magic, that special something. Karez is that artist. A top quality producer with a bright future, we are so very humbled to be presenting his special mix for you all today.
Expect a minimalistic groove, jacking house, deep and driving bass, and drums to dance too, including some Karez originals. This is some pumping house music.
Jack, this is a treat. Thank you for such an epic mix. We can't wait to see you pump an Arteq dance floor soon. Enjoy the beats fam!

More from Arteq and Karez below.
What direction did you take?
I've taken a House/Minimal tech direction with this, it's what I generally like to play, for me nothing beats a solid groove that I can get down too. I've also slid in a new original around half way through that I'll be releasing very soon!
Why did you decide to go this way?
Well like I said, it's what I love to play whenever I'm behind the decks, and it's the direction I'm trying to push my production, slowly but surely.
What did you use to record this mix?
I've used pioneer XDJ1000s and a 900 Nexus mixer, all recording through Ableton.
Where did the name Karez come from?
Haha, it's stupid really, it's just a nickname that seems to have stuck with me since I was about 14 yrs old, therefore I've used it as a stage name.

What drives you to produce music?
I just flat out love it, I couldn't imagine life without music honestly, and my parents played a huge roll in that. I was lucky enough to have really good music around me growing up, and I think it's just been a natural progression from there.
Whats the favourite gig you've played and why?
I cant go past the time two of my best mates and I played at Fake Tits at Tramp back in the day. The vibe was unreal, and we had all of our closest friends up front and centre raging! It was wild!
What's in the pipeline for 2022?
There's a few things involving Tramp Bar, which will be revealed very soon!
Where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years? What have you accomplished?
I see myself still playing music, and continuing to push production! You never stop learning! And I'm keen to absorb as much as possible.
As for accomplishments, I think just the fact that I haven't stopped loving what I'm doing, the fire doesn't seem to fizzle out!
There's 10 mins left before the world self destructs, what song do you put on?
Haha shit, that's a hard one, but I'd probably have to go with something to suite the mood of what's going on.
So maybe Genesis by Justice.
Is there anything on your mind that you'd like to say?
Umm not particularly, I just hope everyone enjoys this mix as much as I enjoyed playing it!
