We cross the waters to New York City, and visit for the 58th Arteq podcast. We are gifted with 76 minutes of grooving, moving, and quick techno. aka Angel Sanchez began his musical journey at 14 years old in the punk rock scene. It wasn't until 2012 when he moved to Brooklyn, New York, and his passion for techno began. In 2019, Angel began playing professionally, and has since made a name for himself across the American continents.

His productions are extremely tight, just give them a listen and you'll understand that is on the rise.

Thank you Angel. The mix is so good. We know our Australian family will be rocking to it. Enjoy the beats fam!

What direction did you take on the podcast?

I usually warm up before recording so I started experimenting with sounds that I had selected from recent releases, artists like Mikrotakt, Volster, Modem, cucaRafa and others that complemented that techno percussive sound that I love. It was really an honor for me to record this podcast. I hope you like it :)

Tell us about the music scene in New York City?

Wow! That is a big question, I would describe it as one of the most diverse music scenes on the planet where you can find sold out parties of every genre, everywhere, all the time.

Particularly Techno has found a home within NYC; deep in the warehouses of industrial Brooklyn, what in the 90s were factories and sweatshops have now been converted to clubs, lofts, bars, where the new best artists are emerging.

2022 is nearly over, what's your fav memory of this year?

I definitely will remember this year, had two releases, my tracks charted top 10 and started my first small tour but if I had to pin-point to one specific memory it'd surely be my first international headlining in Costa Rica.

What do you hope to accomplish in 2023?

I just wanna make more music and continue enjoying life in this new year 2023.

What's coming up for

Before closing 2022 I have a special gig in my hometown down in Ecuador on Dec 28th and two podcast, this one included of course, and another one for my friends at Techno Envision. For 2023 I have more music in the oven of course, more podcasts and events, make sure you follow me on Instagram to keep you posted. @rogers_ec
