Sam In Space, aka Sam Britt, is a hidden gem. A multi-facated creative and talented producer from Melbourne, Sam has been operating under the sly for some time, hosting private parties at undisclosed locations throughout Melbourne, as well as being responsible for world class productions that penetrate major dancefloors.
This mix of 95 minutes is sexy, grinding, deep, wavey, acidic, and funking. Sam In Space, is exactly that, a portal to the other world.

What direction did you take on the podcast?
I went for an indie vibe with this one, a bit deeper and heavier than some of the italo and nu-disco stuff that I also enjoy playing.
Why did you decide to go this way?
I tend to be drawn more towards the genres that fall outside of house and techno, so mainly indie dance and disco. The sound of those genres resonates with me and I think it’s taken a backseat to some of the faster trance stuff being played a lot at the moment, especially here in Melbourne, so it’s good to give it some exposure.
What did you use to record this mix?
I’ve got one of the Pioneer XDJ-RR all-in-one controllers. Not as many features as some of the other options but definitely more affordable and does all you need it to do in my opinion!
You are a talented producer. What drives you to create?
Thanks. I love seeing what I can come up with when I hop into the studio. I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to synthesisers and sound design and seeing what sounds complement each other in interesting ways. Seeing improvement in my productions over time is also another big motivator.

You run some cool underground parties, what is the idea behind them?
For everyone to catch up, have a good time and enjoy some great music!
What’s in the pipeline for the rest of 2023?
Continuing to grind out some music. I’m working closely with good friend of ours Brad Calleja aka Traxion on plenty of new material which we’ll be putting out under our new duo alias “Future City Punks”, so I’m excited for that!
What do you see for yourself in the next 3-5 years? What have you accomplished?
I had my first EP release about a month ago on Spain based Astrolead Recordings which I was stoked about. I’d love to release a few more EPs and possibly an album over the next few years, and just continue to work on developing my own unique sound that is hopefully enjoyable for people to listen to.
There’s 10 minutes left before the world self destructs, what song do you put on?
Hardest question ever. Probably a timeless classic like Don’t You Forget About Me by Simple Minds or Everybody Wants to Rule The World by Tears For Fears.
Is there anything on your mind that you would like to say?
Thanks for the opportunity to share some music that I like with everyone!
