Her passions lie with deep, dark, raw, hypnotic, melodic sounds, groovy beats and acid baselines which connect with the mind, body and soul. Music always gives her energy and meaning of life particularly after a stressful day. She loves creating an atmosphere & energy where she can jump in and dance with others.Yulia is also one of the founders of female techno duo Femme Fatale Music (Aus) who graced a few stages and electrified audiences from April to September 2023 at iconic Melbourne clubs such as Revolver and New Guernica. She is not sure where her DJ story takes her but she is enjoying her current journey a lot.
What direction did you take on the podcast?
Since I’m playing more hypnotic raw fast techno these days, I wanted to use this opportunity to create the journey of my favourite sounds from dark, driving, peak time techno with a few melodies/lyrics in between. These were my first sounds I fell in love when I started playing techno. As usual with my sets, I wanted to support some of Melbourne & international aspiring artists so a few of their tracks are included in this journey.
2023 is nearly over, what's been your favourite memory thus far?
Creating Femme Fatale techno duo with my friend Lana Barker aka dj Flo Rence in Apr 2023 and performing in the biggest Melbourne clubs such as Revolver, New Guernica, Brown Alley for the first time in our lives ( omfg moment …still pinching myself).
What do you hope to accomplish in 2024?
I have a few on my vision board already and some of them are: to shape my techno sound better as I have a big range from 128-155 bpm lol, record my special mix for one of the techno labels I follow & love, record video b2b set with my hypnotic fast techno Dj sis, play in one of the Melbourne techno clubs I recently fell in love with and maybe interstate, continue dj learning including music production and of course to grow my techno circle of likeminded techno legends.
There's 10 minutes left before the world self-destructs, what song do you put on?
‘God is a Dj’ by Faithless.
Anything fun, exciting, or special coming up for you?
I constantly getting sounds and lyrics in my head, so I eventually have an opportunity to put it all in the track in collaboration with the established producer. If all works well, we will release it early 2024.
Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity to share my music journey experience with your beautiful community!
